Valerie Melichar, born in Vienna in 1982, studied creative writing in the USA and England. She works as a German trainer and translator and has published short stories and poems.
In 2012, she won the exile-drama award with her play project “Sonnenkinder. Stardust. Last Televisions.”
As part of the WIENER WORTSTAETTEN, she wrote the episode “Bye-bye MaxiCenter” for the NEUROPA writing project.
Her play “Alle Farben im Schwarz” was presented at the Wortstattnächte 2019 (scenic design: Steffen Jäger).
In 2019/2020 she took part in the collaborative scholarship programme Tour of the Text.
As part of the Entgegnungen project she wrote the play “Hormone”.
