Miroslava Svolikova, born in 1986, studied philosophy in Vienna and Paris, fine arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and scenic writing at uniT Graz. Svolikova has had various exhibitions, runs a music project and publishes in anthologies and literary journals. In 2015, she won the Retzhofer Dramapreis for “die hockenden”. In 2016, she received the Hans Gratzer Scholarship from the Schauspielhaus Wien for “Diese Mauer fasst sich selbst zusammen und der Stern hat gesprochen, der Stern hat auch was gesagt”. In 2017, both plays were invited to the Autorentheatertage Berlin. Svolikova also received the literar mechana drama scholarship (2015), the Schiller Memorial Prize for Young Playwrights (2016), the Hermann Sudermann Prize (2017) and the drama scholarship from the Austrian Federal Chancellery (2017).
