The playwright trained at the Institut del Teatre and the Sala Beckett, where he also teaches playwriting. Since 2008, his trilogy consisting of the three plays “Against Progress” (OT: Contra el progrés), “Against Love” (OT: Contra l’ amor) and “Against Democracy” (OT: Contra la democràcia) has been translated into 17 languages (Catalan, English, French, German, Spanish, Greek, Italian, Danish, Romany, Czech, Hungarian, Russian, Croatian, Portuguese, Slovenian, Swedish and Finnish) and performed by more than 70 directors in countries such as Germany, the USA, France, Romania, the UK, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Venezuela and Mexico. He has been invited to the Stückemarkt at the Berlin Theatre Meeting and the international literature festival in Berlin, as well as twice to the French festival La Moussin d’Été. Against Democracy was awarded the Catalan Serra d’Or Criticism Prize for the best play of 2012 and Against Progress was awarded the French Prix Godot for the best play of the year. It was shortlisted for the Spanish Premios Max as well as the Goya Awards. His work as a filmmaker has been presented at prestigious festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand, BFI London, Cannes (Short Film Corner) and Rooftop Films in New York, among many others.
