Dana Linssen is a Dutch film critic, philosopher and author. She is the former editor-in-chief of de Filmkrant magazine, long-time film critic for NRC Handelsblad, founder of the Slow Criticism Project and curator of the Critics’ Choice at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. She has received several awards for her work as a film critic.
In 2017, she wrote the libretto for “Creator / Destroyer. 17 Ways to Spell Boson’, a particle cantata about the discovery of the Higgs boson.
In 2021, “Instead of Heroes” celebrated its world premiere at Het Zuidelijk Toneel, to which she contributed an independent monologue with an act about Tracey Emin.
She then developed the libretto for a new collaboration with composer Maarten Ornstein and a screenplay for a speculative documentary film.
Within the project Tour of the Text Dana Linssen worked on her play “Burning Conscience”.
