Arna Aley studied Scenic writing at the University of the Arts in Berlin and violoncello at the Academy of Music and Theater in Vilnius/Lithuania. She worked as an assistant director at the Berliner Ensemble, among others with George Tabori and Claus Peymann.
In 2009, she switched to film and is head of the directing department for the international film project “DAU” (D/F/SWE/RUS); director: Ilya Khrzhanovsky; camera: Jürgen Jürges).
Since 2012 she has been working as a freelance curator at the Stone Nest Project (Centre of Contemporary Arts) in London.
Current projects: “Wiedertäufer”, a work commissioned by the Wolfgang Borchert Theater in Munich (premiere in May 2017) and “Following Mayakovsky” (Shein-Film-Production, Moscow). Arna currently lives and works in Berlin.

Arna Aley was one of our authors for the Writers Room 2016/17.
In the course of the project Entgegnungen she wrote the play “Klangwechsel”.
