Pola Fendel, born in 1989, lives and works in Vienna and Berlin.
She studied fine arts in Hamburg, directed theater and co-founded a company. Since the birth of her daughter in 2018, she has turned her screen time, which was always too much anyway, into a job and is part of the public relations team at LeaveNoOneBehind, an association that supports people on the run.
Since last year, she has been returning to her directing roots and directing music videos. She also writes texts on feminism and parenthood, most recently published on Zeit Online.

As part of the Tour of the Text, she wrote the play “Nema Problema” together with Kristina Kiki Jovanovic.

Two friends, Miki and Lola, spontaneously flee their everyday lives in Vienna for Sarajevo. A week that was supposed to promise a relaxed atmosphere and parties turns into a journey in which origins, the question of identity and life-defining decisions are negotiated – all against the backdrop of a broken country undergoing painful reconstruction.
